Tour the Orvis Endorsed Crystal Creek Lodge on the Naknek River

Learn about the "Incredible" Yantarni Salmon Camp, an affilliated Orvis Endorsed Expedition within the Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge.

An Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge, an exceptional guided fishing and fine lodging experience in a sportsmans paradise.

Welcome to the land of dreams: the Katmai region of the Bristol Bay area and the greatest freshwater river and stream fishing in Alaska, if not the entire earth.  Perhaps we should say: welcome to the land of reality.

Bristol Bay rivers have the largest Pacific Salmon runs on earth.  The rivers and streams of Katmai are infested with Alaska Rainbow Trout and grow the largest on earth.  The Naknek River, home water of the lodge, grows trout upwards of 30 inches.  Arctic Char and grayling also infest these waters, and the combination of salmon, trout and char make for a fishery of intense productivity and diversity.

At over 17 inches at girth, this Alaska Rainbow Trout from the Naknek River is bigger around than most trout are long. Crystal Creek Lodge photo

A Rainbow Trout measuring over 17 inches is a nice fish, anywhere.

Since 1988, Crystal Creek Lodge has fulfilled countless dreams in its history, yet the concept is constantly tested and crafted by Dan Michels and his staff of dedicated men and women, people who share the vision of consistently delivering the finest Alaskan fishing vacation possible.  Our mission statement is: "Hosts of the Alaskan Experience".

Time afield is essential to the spirit, and precious.  A vacation is about rejuvenation.  You might as well have the best.

The "Incredible" Yantarni Salmon Camp by Crystal Creek Lodge

A brace of Silver Salmon, fly fishing, from Yantarni Creek, Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge

High volume, small stream salmon fishing on the Alaska Peninsula, Alaska's last fishing frontier.  Fish for Silver, Pink and Chum Salmon as they enter small streams on the tide, then sight cast to them!  The fish are bright as freshly-minted coins, and as strong and tackle-busting as can be.

Located 125 miles south of King Salmon and the lodge, the Yantarni Salmon Camp is an experience distinct from that of Crystal Creek Lodge.
