Deep within the wilds of western Alaska flows a stream of legendary stature. It is clear flowing and meanders by gentle oxbows through the tundra. We call it "Shallow Pond" after the floatplane landing site.

This stream is filled with wild Rainbow trout in the 20-30" class, and catching one or more fish like the one pictured at right is not a possibility, it is a probability. These are trout hungry to take a presented mouse pattern. Also, in season, It is also the best stream in western Alaska where to sight fish and catch ocean fresh King Salmon on a fly rod. Plus, it holds monster Arctic Grayling that love to eat dry flies, some over 20"

This stream is leased from a private party and managed by Crystal Creek Lodge. We take great care to preserve the quality of this fishery by guarding against trespassers, by fishing with barbless flies only, by being reserved in the application of fishing pressure and by carefully handling the fish.

Our overall philosphy is: offer the best and charge a fair price. The annual lease we pay to have exclusive access to this stream is high, but it is an extraordinary stream, literally a place of myth and legend. Now you and up to three other guests can have the opportunity to have it to yourselves for an entire day, and be the only persons to fish it for the week.

The add-on cost for a day of fishing this stream is $500 per person during the months of June and July, $550 per person during the months of August and September. Minimum two persons maximum four on a first request basis.

In order to allow the fish sufficient rest between visits, and to make them HUNGRIER in preparation for your visit, no more than four rods per week will be allowed on any given section.

Sorry, permits will not be issued to other lodges, guides or private parties. The area will be patrolled at random by aircraft and stationed personnel. Trespass, regardless of how minor, will absolutely be documented and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
